Pasta-n-music grosses $7,500 for bands

Boosters sell 716 plates on Monday

Reporter/Mike Brown Rockdale ISD Band Boosters’ annual spaghetti supper packed the junior-high commons for three hours Monday as the group’s major fund raiser surpassed the 2012 event in all phases.

Monette Schweitzer, Band Booster president, said the sale grossed $7,568.25, including $5,728. from spaghetti plate sales, $1,551 from the senior cake/dessert auction and $289. l25 from the dessert table.

She said 716 plates were sold, roughly 100 more than at the 2013 event.

The evening also featured performances from all RISD bands, high school and juniorhigh.

Directors are Adrian Acevedo (high school) and Les Huff (junior high.)

“ Thanks to the bands, directors, band parents, RISD administrators,l school board members and all of our incredible Band Boosters officers and their families,” Schweitzer said. “There’s no way we could to this without them.”
