Two injured in wreck at Brazos River bridge

Two persons were treated at an area hospital last Wednesday (Jan. 30) after a two-vehicle crash on US 79 at the Brazos River bridge, which separates Milam and Robertson counties.

State Trooper Donald Delukie of Milam County said vehicles involved were operated by William

Withers, 36, of Lampasas, and David Costello, 44, of Dallas, Colorado.

Costello and a passenger, 43-year-old John Frank, were treated at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Bryan, according to the DPS.

Delukie said an AMR ambulance and a Robertson County were used to transport.

Damage was termed extensive to the Costello vehicle and minor to the Withers vehicle.

The accident occurred at 12:04 p.m. and the Gause and Hearne Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the report of a semi-dually pickup crash.
