Police arrest four during past week

Rockdale police listed four felony arrests during the past seven days as follows:

• Mary Ann Rodriguez, 27, Rockdale, burglary of a habitation, released after posting $27,000 bond.

• George Lee Lane, 42, Rockdale, possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram), public intoxication, released on $6,000 bond.

• Anthony Dewayne Jones, 35, Giddings, warrant for parole violation, evading arrest or detention, possession of marijuana (4 ounces to 5 pounds), in custody on $27,500 pounds.

• Daphanie Nicole Spiers, 21, Rockdale, probation violation, original charge, theft (less than $1,500) with prior conviction, released on $5,000 bond.

INCIDENTS—Police investigated the theft of 200 feet of copper wiring from the AT&T facility on Ackerman during the week.

Also under investigation are the theft of two leaf blowers, a bicycle and a vehicle used without permission.

One vehicle break-in is also under investigation.

CITATIONS—Traffic citations issued during the week included 20 for speeding, six for expired MVI sticker, five for no liability insurance and one for running a red light. One citation each was issued for tobacco use by person under 18 and violation of loud music ordinance.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
