Pesticide applicator training, CEU sessions planned

CAMERON—For producers who need to obtain their Private Pesticide Applicator License, there will be a Pesticide Applicators Training and Testing held on Feb. 26 at the FIRM Conference room across the street from the Milam County Extension Office in Cameron. The training will begin at 9 a.m. and testing at 1p.m. Registration will begin at 8:30.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register by calling or coming by our office at 100 E. First, Cameron, TX 76520, 254-697-7045. Cost is $50 and includes course training materials and morning refreshments. Participants are also encouraged to pick up course materials prior to the day of the training.

Additionally for producers who already have their Pesticide Applicators license, but need to acquire some additional CEU hours, there will be four 3-hour last chance CEU sessions held on Feb. 27-28 in Cameron. There will be a three hour session from 9 a.m. to noon and a second session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The same format will be repeated on the next day.

Each session will offer one hour Laws & Regulations, one hour Integrated Pest Management and one hour of General per session in topics that are pertinent to row crop, livestock and forage, turf grass and related pesticide application topics. This is an excellent opportunity for those producers who need to obtain those last few hours up to 12 CEU hours.

The cost will be as follows for the courses:

1 session—$20.

2 sessions—$30.

3 sessions—$40.

4 sessions¬≠—$ 50.

Pre-registration is not required. These sessions will be held at the FIRM Conference center across from our office. For more information, please call our office.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
