Brewster

BRENHAM—Memorial services for Ellen Irene Brewster, 88, of Hempstead were held Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, in Brenham Church of Christ in Brenham with Pastor Chad Lagrone officiating.

Mrs. Brewster died Thursday, Feb. 7, in the Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan.

She was born May 18, 1924, in Monaville to John William and Fannie Pearl (Bonner) Morgan.

She married Albert Frank Brewster Sr. on Jan. 20, 1950, in Hempstead.

Mrs. Brewster had various jobs in the Waller and Hempstead area, including with Southwestern Bell. She also worked as a nurses aide and operated Brewster Koral Day Care Center.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting and gardening.

Mrs. Brewster was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Frank Brewster, on July 23, 1988; three sisters, Lillie Malinda Morgan, Lela Pearl Morgan and Edna Marie Hamner; four brothers, William James Morgan, Johnnie F. Morgan, Allen Murphy Morgan and Terrell McDade Morgan; and two grandsons, Albert Frank “Trey” Brewster III and William Shane Brewster.

Survivors are two sons, John Franklin Brewster and friend Margie McGee of LaGrange and Albert Frank Brewster Jr. and wife Michelle of Hempstead; three daughters, Edna Pearl Chambers and husband John of Hempstead, Patsy Ellen Alford and husband Michael of Gause, Cynthia Denise Bishop and husband Mike of Katy; and a brother, Charlie M. Morgan of Monaville; also 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
