Spillers

Services for Sue Spillers, 88, were held Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Douglas Springer and Rev. Charles Denman officiating. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. Spillers was born Nov. 27, 1924, in the Salty community to Oscar Lee and Ivye (Harris) Caffey.

She was a graduate of Rockdale High School.

She married Henry Spillers on Aug. 2, 1942, in Houston. They moved to South West City, Missouri, in 1952 and lived there until she moved to Rockdale in 1999.

Mrs. Spillers was a homemaker and assisted her husband in his ministry.

After moving to Rockdale she became a member of Rockdale Full Gospel Church.

Mrs. Spillers was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Spillers, on Oct. 8, 1992; three brothers, Oscar L. Caffey, Curtis Caffey and Wayne Roberts; and a sister, Rae Skeeters and husband Charlie.

Surviving are a sister, Barbara Springer and husband Douglas of Rockdale; a sister-in-law, Joyce Roberts of Rockdale; and her special children she claimed as her grandchildren; Robert Springer, Melissa Johnson, Haley Johnson, Jeff Springer, Caleb Springer, Zack Springer and Josh Springer; also, a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jeff Springer, Robert Springer, Steve Johnson, Ryan Springer, Caleb Springer, Zack Springer and Josh Springer.
