MANOR OAKS NEWS

Last Wednesday our facility celebrated Black History Month. Our extraordinary dietary department fixed a huge lunch including fried chicken, greens, watermelon, mac & cheese, black-eyed peas, cornbread and potato salad.

Lisa Debault, Joyce Martin and Carol Lewis provided us with cupcakes, blackberry cobbler and peach cobbler. A very special thank you to our Dietary Ladies for the wonderful meal.

A big thank you to Barbara Nelson for providing drinks for our Valentine’s Resident Social. We would also like to thank 4-H for bringing our residents Valentine’s goodie bags and St Joseph’s Catholic Church for bringing Valentine greeting to our residents.

Manor Oaks had representatives go speak to the AME Church about Women’s Heart Health. Thank you to the church for allowing them to come in and speak to their congregation.

On Feb. 20 at 2:30 p.m. we are having a Roaring 20’s Social and on February 26 at 2:45 p.m. we are having our Mardi Gras Social.

Our next big event will be on March 29, Good Friday. Manor Oaks is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for the entire community.

We will have children’s activities sponsored by I-Tigers, food, vendors, and entertainment.

Plastic eggs are needed for the Easter Egg hunt so if you would like to donate, please bring them.

If you would like to be a vendor, please contact Lisa Debault. The cost for a booth is $20 (donated to our activities department) and you are responsible for your own set up. Weather permitting, the event will be held outside.

Manor Oaks is located at 222 S FM 487 and is a non-profit organization. We depend on the support of our community.
