Poor shooting hampers Thorndale
The looks were there. Unfortunately, the results were not as clear.
Shooting a paltry 20 percent from the floor, the Bulldogs were dunked by Snook 50-39 Tuesday night at Rockdale’s Tiger Gymnasium in Class A, Region IV, bi-district playoff action.
The Bulldogs end their disappointing season at 16-8, having dropped four of their last six games. Full Story

Jentsch’s 15 second half points fuels Milano
The Milano Eagles used a third quarter push and cashing in at the free throw line to take down the Thrall Tigers 55-45 in Class A, Region IV, bi-district action on Tuesday night at Rockdale’s Tiger Gym.
The victory sets up an area round match up against No. 23 Sabinal (23-3) on Friday night at Geronimo-Navarro High School. Full Story

Lady Tigers whip up way out West
ABILENE—With their bats in mid-season form, the Rockdale Lady Tigers leapt out to a 4-0 start and consequently brought home the Ice Breakers Tournament championship.
The Lady Tigers banged out 43 hits in scoring 32 runs and batted an impressive .462 (43-for-93) in the tournament.
Getting off to a strong start was key as Rockdale scored 16 runs in the first innings. Full Story
Aggie moms tee up for scholarship golf tourney
The Mi lam County Aggie Moms Club will be having a scholarship golf tournament Saturday, March 23, at the Rockdale Country Club.
Special guest R.C. Slocum will be playing throughout the day and will be on hand for lunch.
The 4-man scramble tournament will have two tee times; 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and will include carts and lunch. Full Story

Gomez, Messer named All-State
Thorndale’s Fabian Gomez and Milano linebacker Dominique Messer were named to the 62nd annual Texas Sports Writers Association Class A All-State football team.
Gomez was a second-team choice at noseguard for the 10-4 Bulldogs. Full Story
