High winds take toll on county trees

Winds clocked up to 50 miles per hour Monday caused a number of problems throughout Milam County.

The sheriff’s department answered three calls of trees toppled onto roadways.

Deputy Mike Hoyt answered a call of a tree blocking traffic on Texas 36 south of Milano at 12:11 p.m.

At 3:41 p.m., Deputy Eddie Veracruz was called to CR 218 for another report of a tree blocking a road.

Deputy Larry Morgan was called to a tree on Cameron area roads at 8:34 p.m

There were also several calls involving trees causing damage in the Rockdale area.
