Turfgrass management clinic set March 7
Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service—Milam County will hold a Turfgrass Management Clinic at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 7at the Rockdale General Store meeting room. Cost per participant will be $15.
Participants can expect to learn about basic varieties of turfgrass, ways to manage and improve their turf, control of weeds and insects, use irrigation more efficiently and help to encourage and develop a better looking yard.
For individuals who hold a Pesticide Applicators License, 2 CEU Hours (1 IPM, 1 Gen) will be offered to participants.
For additional information, please contact the Extension office at 254-697-7045, however pre-registration is not required.
FFA parent, supporter meeting set Thursday
Rockdale FFA will host an information meeting discussing all the possibilities and options available to children in the FFA program, according to advisor Amanda Grigsby.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 in the RHS Ag building, with refreshments being provided.
The meeting is open to all parents of current and future FFA members, and Junior FFA members are included.
Items to be discussed will be: class offerings, FFA contests, animal information and requirements, ag mechanics contest information and requirements, scholarship opportunities for seniors.
Rabies clinic offered March 23 in Thorndale
THORNDALE—Thorndale Middle School is sponsoring a rabies clinic from 2-5- p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Thorndale pavilion in the park.
Dr. Arlon Graef, DVM and his staff from Graef Veterinary Hospital of Taylor will be on hand at the pavilion to administer rabies shots and other shots for cats and dogs.
The rabies shots are only $5 and other shots will also be available.
Please use a leash on dogs and a carrier for cats.
