I f you want to get some good grub this weekend and support two local causes then you are in luck. On Saturday, the Lions Club will hold its annual pancake supper and then on Sunday the local Project Graduation group is raising funds with a barbecue chicken dinner.

The pancake supper is set for 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Milano Civic Center. Adults can eat for $5 and children 12 and under will eat for $3.

On Sunday, Mi lano High School’s senior class Project Graduation will host a lunch fund-raiser from 11 a.m. to sold out at the Rockdale KC Hall.

The menu will include barbecue chicken half, German noodles, green beans, bread and tea all for $8. Desserts will also be available for purchase.

Project Graduation is a drug free, alcohol free event for seniors that will take place after graduation ceremonies in May. Don’t forget that the Milano Elementary School will host a book fair through Friday, March 1 at the school library during school day hours. Parents are encouraged to attend the book fair with their children. Patrons can also buy books for their children’s (or grandchildren’s) classrooms.

Friends of the Bailey Bank Building will hold a fund-raiser at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Milano Civic Center. The “Come join the Parade” event will include food, fun and sing along. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Hope to have more information about this in later columns.

Don’t forget that the Milano ISD PATCH Club is still collecting “Box Tops For Education.” There are containers at the school offices or just send them to school with your students. The box tops are sent in and the school earns free money.
