Brumbelow


Brumbelow Brumbelow Funeral services for Evangelina “Sally” Brumbelow, 91, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Rockdale with Rev. Jack Chelf officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mrs. Brumbelow died Monday, Feb. 25, in Manor Oaks Nursing Home.

She was born on June 22, 1920, in Rockdale to James Howard and Mary Elizabeth (Ashley) Barnhouse.

Mrs. Brumbelow was a lifelong Rockdale resident and a graduate of Rockdale High School.

She married Andrew Brumbelow on Aug. 25, 1940, in Rockdale.

Mrs. Brumbelow was a homemaker and had also worked for 12 years with McVoy’s Grocery as a clerk.

She enjoyed working in the yard and going to the nursing home.

She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1931. She taught various classes in Sunday School for 40 years and also taught classes in Women’s Missionary Union and boys and girls in church training.

Mrs. Brumbelow was an active member of Women’s Missionary Union and taught several years in Vacation Bible School.

She was also a member of the Senior Adults who held Monday morning church services at Manor Oaks Nursing Center.

Mrs. Brumbelow was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew Brumbelow, on Oct. 2, 1992; a son, Andrew Brumbelow Jr.; four brothers, Frank, Howard, Joel and Henry Barnhouse; and a sister, Bertha Mae Haining.

Survivors include Richard Brumbelow and wife Brenda of Pflugerville, David Brumbelow and wife Lannette of Rockdale; special family members, Billie Dell Brumbelow and Ruth Fisk; a grandson, David; and two granddaughter, Shane and Donna DeAnn; also, two other grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
