Public school week ending on Friday

Texas Public Schools week, which has been going on since Monday, swings into high gear for the final two days Thursday and Friday with the events including:

Thursday—7:30 to 8 a.m. Grub for Grandparents breakfast, elementary cafeteria; 10:45 to 11:15 a.m., Leader in Me 7 student habits presentation, RJH commons; 1:30 p.m., first grade’s “Texas program,” elementary gym, followed by second-grade picnic, outside; 5:30 to 7 p.m., Family Math & Science night, intermediate; 5:30 p.m. “Brag Night,” RHS.

Friday—7:20 to 7:50 a.m., Grub for Grandparents breakfast, intermediate cafeteria; 7:30 a.m., coffee with the counselors, RHS; 10:45 to 11:15 a.m., Leader in Me 7 student habits presentation, RJH commons.

Parents are also continuing to read in classrooms during the week. All interested in reading to students should call their child’s campus in advance to sign up for a reading time.

Spring break

March 11-15 is spring break week at all area campuses.

There will be no classes in Rockdale, Milano, Thorndale and Gause schools.

Administration facilities will also be closed, including the Rockdale Central Administration Building.

Classes resume Monday morning, March 18.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
