DOUBLE PLAY—There were lots of speakers, and performers, on and at each of the six venues at Saturday’s Tejas Fest, but only one ensemble performed at two. That would be the ever-faithful Communities in Concert Band, which played at the Wolf Park Pavilion, then packed up, trekked down Main Street and closed out a busy day at the Kay Theatre. Other venues were the I&GN Depot-Museum, Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library, Auto and Bke Show and Henry Garage. Also, authors visited Rockdale ISD campuses on the previous day.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
