Bailey Bank Building fund-raiser set March 23

By Kay Lagrone

Friends of the Bailey Bank Building will hold a fund-raiser at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Milano Civic Center. The “Come join the Parade” event will include food, fun and sing along. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

Don’t forget that the Milano ISD PATCH Club is still collecting “Box Tops For Education.” There are containers at the school offices or just send them to school with your students. The box tops are sent in and the school earns free money. The club’s goal is 10,000 box tops this school year and they are three-fourths of the way there.

Spring break has arrived for Milano ISD. No classes will be held March 11-15, with school resuming regular time March 18.

A fund-raiser golf tournament is planned for May 18 to help fund a few scholarships at Milano High School this spring. It will be a four-man scramble and will be held at the Rockdale Country Club golf course. Contact the MHS office, 512-455-9333, for more information.

There were good turn outs at both the Lions Club pancake supper on Saturday and the Project Graduation barbecue chicken dinner on Sunday. All the food was very yummy.

Spring sports are underway with softball, baseball, track, tennis and golf all practicing.

Little league baseball and softball practices have also begun.

With several grandkids in various sports we will be very busy this spring.
