Nature Festival photo contest announced

This year’s Milam County Nature Festival, sponsored by the El Camino Real Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists, will be held on Friday, April 12 and Saturday April 13 at Rockdale Fair Park. The opening of the group’s Nature Photo Contest being held in conjunction with the Festival has been announced.

There are three age divisions based on your age as of March 29, 2013, which is the date of final submission: Child under age 12; Teens ages 12 through 17; and Adults ages 18 and over.

There are five categories where each person can submit one photo in each one: People in Nature; Wildlife; Landscape/Scenery; Plants/Flora; and Funny Nature Photo. Photos need to be 8x10 size, without any matting or framing to keep it all simple and inexpensive.

The submission forms and guidelines are pretty easy and can be obtained from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Cameron, or the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce office or easy to download from http:// txmn.org/elcamino/naturefest/.
