Public Schools Week draws visitors to RISD
Activities held for public bring parents, families to campuses
Texas Public Schools Week, a tradition on the week before spring break, brought large turnouts of visitor to all four Rockdale ISD campuses.
Largest single crowd was Thursday afternoon when the elementary gym bleachers were packed to the first grades annual Texas play, with a script that featured several musical numbers. Full Story
Branson group bringing show to Lexington
LEXINGTON—All the way from Branson, Missouri, the Plummer Family Country Music Show is coming to Lexington once again.
The Lexington EMS will present the Plummer Family on Friday, March 15 at the Lexington Elementary School. Show time is set for 7 p.m. with advance tickets available for $10 (adults) and $5 (under 12). Tickets will be slightly higher at the door. Full Story
Annual MARC Run set for April 13th
The 12th annual MARC Run, brought to you by The Bad To The Bone Riders of Rockdale, will take place on April 13 at The Ranch, 415 W. US 79 in Rockdale, organizer Charles Starr said. This annual ride benefits The MARC (Milam Adult Resource Center) of Milam County serves all Milam County Adult Residents with physical and learning disabilities. Full Story

Whitmore piano students earn high marks at Junior Festival
Local piano students recently played in the National Federation of Music Clubs' Junior Festival at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, Belton, according to their piano teacher, Dixie Whitmore.
Over 160 students from Central Texas performed at the festival in piano, hymn playing, violin, cello and voice. Full Story
