James Malcolm Gerdeman, 80, of Rockdale died at his home on Friday, March 8, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Gerdeman was born Nov. 8, 1932, to Alvin H. and Fern Millicent (Brooke) Gerdeman in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Gerdeman was a graduate of the University of Texas.
He was an attorney in Lubbock, before retiring.
He married Cynthia Robertson on April 29, 2000, in Lubbock.
Mr. Gerdeman had lived in Rockdale the past nine years, moving here from Lubbock.
Survivors are his wife, Cynthia Robertson of Rockdale; three daughters, Amanda Chin of San Diego, California, Andrea Webb of Spring, Mary Kay Bode of Manor; a brother, William Gerdeman of Grand Junction, Colorado; a sister, Donna Jean Hays of Grand Junction, Colorado; and four grandchildren, Derek and Tracy Chin, Eddie and Charli Webb.
