Rockdale OAP to hold public show Tuesday

Rockdale High School’s One-Act Play sf “ Wizard of Oz” will hold a public per formance on Tuesday, March 26, according to director Kristy Kaufmann.

The performance will begin at 7 p.m. in the RHS Auditorium. Cost is $5 for adults and $ 3 for RISD students. Children under two get in free.

The group will then perform in District contest Wednesday, March 27 at College Station High School.

Rabies clinic offered March 23 in Thorndale

THORNDALE—Thorndale Middle School is sponsoring a rabies clinic from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Thorndale pavilion in the park.

Dr. Arlon Graef, DVM and his staff from Graef Veterinary Hospital of Taylor will be on hand at the pavilion to administer rabies shots and other shots for cats and dogs.

The rabies shots are only $5 and other shots will also be available. Please use a leash on dogs and a carrier for cats.

Milano, Thorndale OAP groups advance

CAMERON— Both Milano and Thorndale High Schools will see their One-Act Plays advanced to the next level after performances during District 27A Zone contest held Monday at Yoe High School’s Performing Arts Center.

Milano’s “Anatomy of Gray” and Thorndale’s “After Midnight Before Dawn” will perform at District contest on Wednesday, March 27 at Georgetown High School.

Milano’s Junior Gallarado and Stonie Guthrie were named best actor and best actress, respectively. Named to the all-star cast were Milano’s Hayleigh Lagrone, Victoria Garcia and Kody Love, along with Thorndale’s Kevin Cooke and Amanda Mead. Making the honorable mention all-star cast were Milano’s Dominique Messer and Thorndale’s Josh Jones and Zoie Cooper.

Milano’s crew of Michael Elston, Alex Ferrara, Shannon Graf, Keely Lagrone and Victoria Walker were named “best crew.”

Project Grad schedule barbecue chicken dinner

Rockdale Project Graduation will hold a barbecue chicken dinner fund-raiser on Sunday, April 21 at Rockdale KC Hall, according to Debbie Brinkley, spokesperson.

Serving will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., dine in or carry out. Desserts will also be available. Tickets are $8 per plate and are on sale now from any Rockdale Project Graduation Senior.
