Friends of the Bailey Bank Building will hold a fund-raiser at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Milano Civic Center. The “Come join the Parade” event will include food, fun and sing along. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
The Milano Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary has set the dates for its spring garage sale. It will be April 4-6 at the Milano Civic Center. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 4-5 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6.
The ladies will be at the civic center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting April 1 to accept donations. They are in great need of donations for the sale so get busy with your spring cleaning and help out this great group.
Milano Athletic Booster Club will hold its fourth annual Alumni Softball Tournament on Saturday, April 6. All alumni, parents of alumni or parents of current Milano students, Booster Club members and Milano faculty members are invited to play. Teams are allowed two non-alumni players.
Registration will start at 8 a.m. and first pitch is set for 9 a.m. There will be full concessions available, auctions and lots of family fun. Cost is $20 to play and participants will get a T-shirt.

Milano High School’s One Act Play competed in zone competi- tion Monday at Yoe High School in Cameron and were chosen to advance to the next level which is district. They will compete on Wednesday, March 27 at Georgetown High School.
The group came away with several awards from Monday’s performance of “Anatomy of Gray.” Stonie Guthrie was named best actress and Junior Gallarado was named best actor.
Victoria Garcia, Kody Love and Hayleigh Lagrone were named to the all-star cast and Dominique Messer was named to the honorable mention all-star cast.
Milano’s crew members were named “best crew” of the competition. Crew members are Michael Elston, Alex Ferrara, Shannon Graf, Keely Lagrone and Victoria Walker.
A fund-raiser golf tournament is planned for Saturday, May 18 to help fund a few new scholarships at Milano High School this spring. It will be a four-man scramble format and will be held at the Rockdale Country Club golf course.
Cost is $60 per player or $240 for a four person team and is limited to the first 18 teams. Two mulligans may be purchased per person for $5 each. Single players are welcome and will be paired with a teams.
Prizes will be given out to the top three teams, as well as for longest drive, closest to pin and hole-in-one.
Participants will also be served breakfast tacos and a barbecue lunch. Entry deadline is May 10. Forms are available at www.milanoisd.net or at the high school principal’s office.
They are looking for people to play in the tournament and for sponsors.
