At 5-foot-4, Czajkowski gets a lift from breaking records
Jamie Czajkowski was in a panic.
As a way to loosen him up, RISD Athletic Director Jeff Miller informed him that the state powerlifting meet scheduled for this Saturday had been cancelled.
When a reporter asked for his reaction to the cancellation, his face went ashen.
When it was finally revealed as a hoax, Czajkowski’s face returned to its normal shade. Full Story
Taylor’s big inning dooms Tigers in district opener
Ducks strike for six runs in the sixth for win
A timely six-run sixth inning allowed Taylor to shake off Rockdale 14-8 Tuesday night in the District 18-3A opener on the road.
The Tigers stand 11- 7 on the season, having dropped two straight after posting 11 straight wins.
The Ducks’ used two bases loaded walks and a grand slam home run to break open a onerun game in the sixth. Full Story
Lady Eagles sit alone atop district standings at 3-0
Milano scores 30 runs in past two league outings
SNOOK—The Milano Lady Eagles remain unbeaten in District 27A play with wins over Snook and Burton during the week. At Snook on Tuesday, Milano (10-7, 3-0) took just four innings to pound out 11 hits and take the win 18-1.
Kiersten Bastow pitched the win, striking out three and walking one for the Lady Eagles. Full Story
Thorndale takes down Bartlett
BARTLETT—The Thorndale Lady Dogs (8-6, 2-0) recovered from a spring break rest by taking down Bartlett 13-1 on the road Tuesday night in District 26A action.

Eagles struggling in league play
MILANO—Milano (1-3) continue District 26A play with a 15-3 loss Georgetown Gateway on Tuesday.
Eagle pitchers gave up two grand slams to Gateway batters to fall behind early.
The Eagles loss 7-3 on the road at Granger on Friday. David Jentsch absorbed the loss, striking out five batters and walking five more. Full Story

Messer doubles up after making All-State in hoops
Milano star was also first-team in football
Like John Jentsch before him, Dominique Messer has proven to rise to the top in two different sports.
Milano’s Messer was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State team after being named first-team All-State in football this past season.

Milano scholarship golf tourney set May 18
MILANO—A fund-raiser golf tournament will be held Saturday, May 18 to help with scholarships for Milano ISD.
