Thorndale takes down Bartlett

BARTLETT—The Thorndale Lady Dogs (8-6, 2-0) recovered from a spring break rest by taking down Bartlett 13-1 on the road Tuesday night in District 26A action.

The team managed 14 hits on the night.

“We hit the ball better than we have all year, and we hit it back up the middle which is something we always preach,” Thorndale head coach Lance Betak said. “We also played solid defense. Our only defensive mistake was misplaying a long fly ball.”

Charla Leopold tossed the win for the Lady Dogs. She also was a heavy bat, going two for five at the plate and ripping two doubles.

Shelby Pausewang was three for five and Gabby Moreno was two for five.

Thorndale will host rival Thrall at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Tigerettes are also 2-0 in league play.

The Lady Dogs will then travel to Granger on Tuesday.
