Car, quilt shows set April 20

BY DARLEE N TUC KER TACC Secretary

Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) reminds you to mark your calendars for Saturday, April 20, for their fourth annual Classic Car Show and the Airing of the Quilts event. The Classic Car Show has grown from fifty entries the first year to over one hundred entries last year and will include trophies for the winners in all categories and an over-all winner.

Call Trey Felton at 512-898- 5387, Jason Ramirez at 512- 430-2546, or Brian Morton at 512-658-5378 for more information on the car show.

Also on April 20, an arts and crafts fair up and down Main Street during the car show will include everything from candles, to baked goods to jewelry to antiques. Shopping, as an art form, is the order of the day as our local merchants will also have specials for your shopping pleasure. The TACC encourages you to check out the fine merchandise unique to each business.

And the Airing of the Quilts show will be held in the TACC building on Main Street on the same day. Stop by the quilt show and see the beautiful pieces of history on display. This is a viewer judged quilt show and the creators of these extraordinary works of art would love to have your vote for their entry. All categories will have winners selected and an overall winner will receive a special award.

Come and help us celebrate this beautiful art form and show appreciation to the hours spent creating these family heirlooms. If you would like to enter one of your quilts or one of you family heirlooms, call Darleen Tucker at 512-898- 2727 or email her at dar_ tucker@yahoo.com.

TACC would also like to encourage you to join the chamber so you can help us bring these family-friendly events to Thorndale. Please call Brian Morton at 512-658- 5378 or Darleen Tucker at 512- 898-2727 if you would like to join the chamber.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for this special event. We look forward to seeing you.
