I have written before in this space that if you’re lucky, you’re friends fathers become your father as well, trying to help you get a foot hold in this life.
While we all have certainly lost a number of our “fathers” here in the past decade. This past week, we lost one of the mothers, or as I like to call her, the den mother to us all. Full Story

Wallis’ RBI pushes Rockdale past College Station to stay unbeaten
Alyssa Wallis’ RBi single in the sixth inning pushed the Rockdale Lady Tigers past College Station en route to a 6-4 victory Tuesday night on th road.
Aiming for their first league championship since 2007, the Lady Tigers remained unbeaten in District 18-3A play at 4-0 and are 12-3 overall.
Rockdale now has a two-game lead over the Lady Cougars (11- 13, 2-2). Full Story

Blue shut out by College Station Tuesday night
After picking up their first league victory of the season, the Rockdale Tigers were blanked by College Station 9-0 Tuesday night on the road.
The Tigers slip to 12-8 overall and 1-2 in District 18-3A play.

Thorndale outhits Granger in defeat
The Thorndale Bulldogs lost 5-3 in seven innings at Thorndale on Tuesday, despite outhitting Granger seven to six.
Price Miller racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Thorndale Bulldogs Varsity.
He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings. Full Story
Wright girl for the job
Hailey Wright captured first place in the 100-meter hurdles and was second in the 300-meter hurdles as the Rockdale Lady Tigers placed sixth at the Lexington Relays. The Rockdale boys were also sixth. Full Story
Milano boys win district golf title
Walton shoots 80 to take individual championship
CAMERON—The Milano boys golf team took the District 25A t it le on Monday during the district meet held at Cameron Country Club.
The team shot a 336 total, well ahead of second place Holland’s 363 total.
Sophomore Derek Walton led the Eagles with a score of 80, also good enough to earn the individual district champion t it le for the left-hander. Full Story
Eagles continue district struggles
MILANO--Things just aren’t going the Eagles way as Milano (1-5)continue to struggle in District 26A play, falling to visiting Holland on Tuesday night 17-6.
Juan Valdivia took the loss for the Eagles, pitching all seven innings.

Rockdale Rotary Club’s 21st annual Mike McFalls Memorial Scholarship Scramble golf tou r nament will be held Saturday, April 6 at Rockdale Country Club.
