Milano’s One-Act Play to hold public performance Thursday at MHS cafetorium
Be sure to catch a one time only performance of Milano High School’s One-Act Play sf “Anatomy of Gray” set for 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at the MHS cafetorium. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. There will also be a silent auction of baked goods and other items.
The group did not advance from district contest held March 27 at Eastview High School in Georgetown, however they did come back with some individual awards.
All-star cast medals went to Victoria Garcia and Hayleigh Lagrone. Junior Gallarado and Stonie Guthrie were named to the honorable mention all-star cast. For the second contest in a row, Milano’s OAP was named “best crew.” Crew members are Michael Elston, Alex Ferrara, Shannon Graf, Keely Lagrone and Victoria Walker.
Directors of the OAP group are Susan Meyer and Sherry Lagrone.
Milano Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary will hold its annual spring garage sale this weekend at the Milano Civic Center. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Be sure to go support this great group of volunteers.
Milano PATCH Club is cur- rently holding its annual Little Caesars pizza kit fund-raiser. Order forms and information were sent home with each Milano ISD student last week. Order forms and money are due back to school on Monday, April 8. The club makes at least $5 off each kits sold. The proceeds will go to the PATCH Club’s efforts to help our students.
Milano Athletic Booster Club wi ll hold its four th annual Alumni Softball Tournament on Saturday, April 6. All alumni, parents of alumni or parents of current Milano students, Booster Club members and Milano faculty members are invited to play. Teams are allowed two non-alumni players.
Registration will start at 8 a.m. and first pitch is set for 9 a.m. There will be full concessions available, auctions and lots of family fun. Cost is $20 to play and participants will get a T-shirt.

Milano Lodge #605 AF&AM will host its 13th annual fourman scramble tourney on Saturday, April 20 at the Cameron Country Club with tee time set for 9 a.m. P roceeds w ill benefit t he group’s scholarship fund.
Entry is $40 per person and prizes will be awarded to first through third place teams. A limit of four mulligans are available for $5 each. Prizes will also be awarded for longest drive and closest to the pin. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Hole sponsorships are still available.

Be sure to make plans to help support the second annual Knight Volleyball Scholarship Fund-raiser set for Saturday, May 4 at the Milano Elementary gym.
Registration will start at 9 a.m. and games will begin at 10 a.m. Numbers will be drawn for teams that morning.
Cost to play is $20 per person. To just watch the tourney, admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. A concession stand will be available.
A fund-raiser golf tournament is planned for Saturday, May 18 to help fund a few new scholarships at Milano High School this spring. It will be a four-man scramble format and will be held at the Rockdale Country Club golf course.
Cost is $60 per player or $240 for a four person team and is limited to the first 18 teams. Two mulligans may be purchased per person for $5 each. Single players are welcome and will be paired with teams.
Prizes will be given out to the top three teams, as well as for longest drive, closest to pin and hole-in-one.
Participants will also be served breakfast tacos and a barbecue lunch. Entry deadline is May 10. Forms are available at www.milanoisd.net or at the high school principal’s office.
They are looking for people to play in the tournament and for sponsors.
