Spots still available for April 26 Spring tour

Friday, April 26 is the date for the spring tour to Brenham and Chappell Hill. The chartered bus will pick you up in Cameron or Rockdale. The day will start with a tour of Blue Bell Creamery. After the Blue Bell tour, the bus will drop us off in downtown Brenham where we will have about three hours to eat and consumer shop. Full Story
MCJLS nets record $216,613 for youth
Tops 2012 total by over $16,000
CAMERON—The 2013 Milam County Junior Livestock Show, held March 21-23 in the Youth Exposition Building was the largest yet.
The auction sale brought in $216,613 for area FFA and 4-H youth. That surpassed the previous record, last year’s $200,582, by more than $16,000.

RFA commercial heifer show tag in April 3
The tag-in for the 2013 Rockdale Fair Commercial Heifer Show is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 at the Arledge Feed Lot Pens on Hwy 79 West of Rockdale, co-chairman Birdie Kristoff announced.
All Milam County 4-H and FFA members wishing to participate in this show must tag-in their heifers on this date. Full Story

THORNDALE—The Thorndale 4-H/ FFA Booster Club announced the April winners for its monthly gun chance drawing, according to Rebecca Garcia, spokesperson.

Milam County sends four teams to Go Texan contests
Gerren, Hilton place fourth in washers
KATY—On Feb. 22, the Milam County Area Go Texan Committee sent four teams to the annual Go Texan contest day, according to Mi lam County ambassador Jennifer Hanke.
The washer pitching team of Chris Gerren and Colby Hilton placed fourth overall and were awarded trophies.
