Two sent to prison on church AC thefts
A Lexington man and a Nebraska resident have each drawn two seven-year prison terms after they pleaded guilty to taking air conditioning equipment from area churches, two in the Rockdale area.
David John Johnson, 24, of Lexington was sentenced last week in 20th District Court while Donald Page, 25, of Hastings, Nebraska, was sentenced last month. Full Story
Superintendent search starts
The Rockdale ISD Board of Trustees will begin its search for a new superintendent in a called session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Central Administration Building.
Lee Jenkins, board president, said trustees are scheduled to interview three superintendent search firms. Full Story
MARC run set April 13
The 12th annual MARC Run, sponsored by Bad To The Bone Riders of Rockdale, will take place on April 13 at The Ranch, 415 W. US 79 in Rockdale, organizer Charles Starr said. This annual ride benefits The MARC (Milam Adult Resource Center) of Milam County serves all Milam County Adult Residents with physical and learning disabilities. Full Story

Water topped the list of topics when members and visitors at the most recent meeting of the Community Advisory Panel to Alcoa (Rockdale Operations) were asked what was on the minds of community members.
