Milano council slated to meet on Monday

MILANO—Council members will hear a presentation and possibly take action to hire law firm McCreary, Veselka, Bragg and Allen to collect the delinquent city taxes during a regular meeting of the Milano City Council on Monday.

The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Milano Civic Center, 120 West Avenue E.

The council voted in the city’s first ever ad valorem tax rate of 25-cents March 22 during a special called meeting.

Also on Monday’s agenda, the council will discuss and take action to contract with Milam County Tax Assessor-Collector Kolette Morgan to collect city taxes and consider a request from Cedric Myers to move a mobile home within the city limit.
