Spring tour a great day out with friends
I nvite your friends to join you for an outing to Brenham and Chappell Hill on Friday, April 26. The chartered bus will pick you up in Cameron or Rockdale. The day will start with a tour of Blue Bell Creamery. After the Blue Bell tour, the bus will drop us off in downtown Brenham where we will have about three hours to eat and consumer shop. Full Story
Mid-season crops clinic set April 19

Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service–Milam County Office will hold a Mid-Season Crops Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, April 19 at the Thorndale Fireman’s Hall. The event will feature speakers discussing topics pertinent to row crop production in Milam and surrounding counties. Full Story

Milam shooters win awards at ‘March Madness’ invitational

On March 2, 17 members of the Milam County 4-H Shooting Sports Club participated in the thirteenth annual “March Madness Invitational Shoot” in Manor, Texas at the Austin Rifle Club. T his shoot is considered a warm-up for Extravaganza, District Round-ups or the State Event to be held in July.

TACC readies for April 20 quilt, car shows
Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is pleased to announce their newest raffle quilt is ready just in time for the upcoming Airing of the Quilts quilt show and Classic Car Show scheduled for April 20. Gause VFD barbecue sale set Saturday
Remember to go buy lunch from the Gause Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, April 13. They will have their annual barbecue fund-raiser at the fire station. Members will begin selling plates at 10 a.m. Cost is $10 a plate. They will also be selling cakes. Your support for the local fire department will be appreciated. Full Story
