Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is pleased to announce their newest raffle quilt is ready just in time for the upcoming Airing of the Quilts quilt show and Classic Car Show scheduled for April 20. This will be the fourth year for our spring weekend event and it looks to be even bigger and better.

The raffle quilt is titled “All Around the Posies” and is a beautiful queen-sized quilt in red, beige and black fabric. It is a “mustsee”quiltdestinedtobe a family heirloom for the lucky winner of the drawing which will be held on the weekend of the Thorndale Firemen’s BBQ Cookoff on June 22 of this year. See any TACC director or local merchant for tickets and see if you will be the lucky winner of this unique quilt which will be on display in Thorndale beginning next week.

The quilt was pieced by quilt commit tee members Donna Johnston, Rosalie Biar, Peggy Weise and Darleen Tucker. Donna Johnston, of Quilting by Donna Lou, machine quilted the quilt and hand-sewed the binding. The proceeds from the quilt raffle will go to youth scholarships given by the TACC this year.

For information on entering a quilt in the TACC Quilt Show, call Darleen Tucker at 512-898- 2727 or email dar_ tucker@yahoo. com. This will be a viewer-judged quilt show and we look forward to seeing you and your quilts at the show.

In addition, the Classic Car Show has grown from fifty entries the first year to over one hundred entries last year and will include trophies for the winners in all categories and an over-all winner. For more information on the car show call Trey Felton at 512-898-5387, Jason Ramirez at 512-430-2546, or Brian Morton at 512-658-5378. Rev up your motors and join us for a day of walking back in time with classic cars, trucks, and unique vehicles. We love them all.

And if quilts and cars are not your fancy, the Arts and Crafts Fair up and down Main Street during the day will include everything from candles, to baked goods, to jewelry, to antiques. Enjoy shopping at all of our vendors and don’t forget to check out our local merchants who will have specials for your shopping pleasure. The TACC encourages you to check out the fine merchandise found in each business all over town.

The TACC would also like to encourage you to join the chamber so you can help us bring these family-friendly events to Thorndale. We take individual memberships as well as business memberships. Please call Brian Morton at 512-658-5378 or Darleen Tucker at 512-898- 2727 if you would like to join the chamber.
