Garcia

Graveside services for Romanita “MoMo” Garcia, 81, were held Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Beeville Memorial Park in Beeville.

Mrs. Garcia died Tuesday, April 2, at her home in Rockdale.

She was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Beeville to Luciano and Antonia (Munoz) Perez.

Mrs. Garcia was raised and lived most of her life in Beeville, until the past 12 years in Rockdale.

She married Olegario G. Garcia in Beeville on Oct. 30, 1951.

They had seven children and raised 10. After daughter Rita Montez’s death at an early age, Mrs. Garcia raised Rita’s three children as her own.

She was a homemaker, wife, mother, mother-in-law and a strong and faithful family supporter.

Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her husband, Olegario G. Garcia, on Jan. 22, 2005; her parents, a brother and a sister.

Survivors are three sons; Luciano Garcia and wife Mary, Richardo Montez Jr. and wife Cynthia, all of Beeville, Celestino “Sal” Montez and Monique Simien of Pflugerville; six daughters, Viola Rivera and husband Johnny of Rockport, Angela Garcia Snider of Beeville, Rose Loya Barrientes and husband Dan, Didi Garcia Juarez and husband Frank, Yolanda Garcia Perez and husband Joaquin, Zina Montez Juarez and husband Domingo Jr., all of Rockdale; a brother, Isidro Perez and Maria Rodriguez of Houston; and a sister, Sovieda Garza of Beeville; also, 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Family members serving as pallbearers were Joey Rivera, Javier Loya, Andrew Loya, Barry Garcia, Aldo Garcia, Cody Barrett, Dustin Flores, Zane Flores, Brian Jacob Perez, Richardo Montez Jr., Sal Montez and Derek Contreras.
