Woolverton

MOUNT ENTERPRISE— Memorial services for Delbert Woolverton, 77, of Mount Enterprise were held Monday, Apr. 8, 2013, at Smyrna Baptist Church near Mount Enterprise.

Mr. Woolverton died Wednesday, April 3, in Henderson.

He was born May 2, 1935, to Oscar and Thelma Jackson Woolverton in Bard, New Mexico.

Mr. Woolverton was a resident of Rusk County for over 30 years.

He was an electrician and a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Mount Enterprise.

He was a card carrying member of the NRA and enjoyed horse racing.

Mr. Woolverton was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Thelma Jackson Woolverton Horelica; four brothers, Melvin Woolverton, Loy Earl Woolverton, Ernest Delman Woolverton and Jerry Woolverton; and a sister, Eva Grace Phillips.

Survivors include two daughters, Jenice Harris and husband Richard of Rosenberg, Linda Halbert and husband Mike of Mount Enterprise; a son, Robert Cotton and wife Maggie of Mount Enterprise; three sisters, Loma Kendricks of Temple, Shirley Baggerly of Caldwell, Melba Ripple of Bryan; and a stepbrother, Frank Horelica; also, three grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
