A co-ed softball tournament to raise funds for the Germaine Dawson Scholarship Fund has been set for Saturday, April 13 at the girls softball complex.
Organizer Michael Bleeker said the deadline to sign up teams is 8 p.m. Friday, April 11.
Games will start at 9 a.m. and will be played for one hour. Teams must consists of 10 or more players and entry fee is $5 per player (minimum $50).
Drawings for prizes will be held after the first game and tickets are being sold for $5 each for a barbecue pit.
Dawson’s family will also be on site selling barbecue plates.

Milano scholarship golf tourney tees off May 18
MILANO—A fund-raiser golf tournament will be held Saturday, May 18 to help with scholarships for Milano ISD.
Cost is $60 per player or $240 for a four person team and is limited to the first 18 teams. Two mulligans may be purchased per person for $5 each. Single players are welcome and will be paired with a team.
Prizes will be given out to the top three teams, as well as for longest drive, closest to pin and hole-in-one.
Participants will also be served breakfast tacos and a barbecue lunch. Entry deadline is May 10. Forms are available at www.milanoisd.net or at the high school principal’s office.
Hole sponsorships are also available for the event for $120. A silent auction is also planned.

Milano Lodge #605 AF&AM will host its 13th annual four-man scramble tourney on Saturday, April 20 at the Cameron Country Club with tee time set for 9 a.m.
Proceeds wi ll benef it the group’s scholarship fund, spokesperson Jesse Love said.
Entry is $40 per person and prizes will be awarded to first through third place teams. A limit of four mulligans are available for $5 each.
Prizes will also be awarded for longest drive and closest to the pin. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Hole sponsorships are still available for $150.

Thorndale Booster Club holds fund raiser Apr. 27
THORNDALE—Thorndale Lady Dog athletics will hold a fund-raiser on Satur - day, Apr i l 27 f rom 9 a. m. unt i l sold out, at the intersection of US 79 and FM 486, Coach Lisa Coelho announced.
The group will be selling cornish hens, turkey, Boston butt, pork rubs and chicken as individual wraps or by the pound.
