Milano council hires firm for delinquent taxes
MILANO—Milano city council members heard a presentation and voted to contract with McCreary, Veselka, Bragg and Allen law firm to collect the delinquent city taxes during a regular meeting on Monday at the Milano Civic Center.
The council voted in the city’s first ever ad valorem tax rate of 25-cents March 22 during a special called meeting.
Also on Monday, the council voted to contract with Milam County Tax Assessor-Collector Kolette Morgan to collect city taxes and tabled a request to move a mobile home within the city limits until council members reviewed the city’s manufactured/ mobile home ordinance.
The weekend of June 1-2 was set for the city wide cleanup.
