Intro to Monarchs class set April 24 in Milano

A free informational class, “Introduction to Monarchs,” will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the Milano Community Center, 303 W. Ave E., across the street from the Milano Post Office, according to spokesperson Debbi Harris.

If you are interested in learning more about those beautiful little butterflies, please RSVP by April 20 to milanojunctionmemorial garden@yahoo.com.

This class will be free of charge and open to the public but you will need to reserve your seat, Harris said.

Master Naturalists hosting workshops

El Camino Real Chapter are sponsoring two Texas Parks and Wildlife Nature Tracker Train the Trainer Workshops, according to spokesperson Katherine Bedrich.

On Friday, April 26, Amphibian Watch Train the Trainer Workshop will be held from 4-10 p.m. at Rockdale General Store, 1201 West US 79.

This event will be lead by Lee Anne Linum, TPWD specialist. Learn how to identify amphibians and participate in scientific research as an important Texas Nature Tracker Partnership.

On Saturday, April 27, Mussel Watch Train the Trainer Workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. back at Rockdale General Store.

This event will be lead by Marsha May, TPWD specialist. Learn how to identify freshwater mussel species and participate in scientific research as an important Texas Nature Tracker Partnership.

CPE and TEEAC credit is available for educators. Each workshop will cost $10 for materials and registration is required. For more information contact the County Extension Office, 254-697-7045.
