Lady Tigers travel to Caldwell with shot at title
The Rockdale Lady Tigers made it official Tuesday night with a 7-1 victory over College Station at the Softball Complex to secure a spot in the state playoffs.
The Lady Tigers (16-5 overall and 7-2 in District 18-3A) close out the regular season Friday at league front-runner Caldwell (23-7, 7-1) with a chance of sharing the district crown, their first since 2007. Full Story

It wasn’t bad enough that the Rockdale Tigers dropped another one-run decision, they may have lost their best players as well.
In the Tigers’ 4-3 loss to College Station Tuesday night at Tiger Ballpark, Ethan Brinkley was injured while chasing down a fly ball and had to be carted off the field. Full Story

BRENHAM—For the second time in school history and the second year in a row, Milano’s boys golf team is headed to the state championships.

Milano’s Messer wins nine gold medals in last two track meets
SOMERVILLE—It came down to the final leg of the final race to decide the Area track meet title and it came down to two south Milam County Class A schools— Thorndale and Milano.
Heading into the 4x400 relay at the meet for Districts 25A and 26A, Thorndale set just five points ahead of Milano. Full Story

The Thorndale Bulldogs took another step in securing a playoff berth with a 10-2 win over Granger Tuesday night on the road.

GEORGETOWN—The No. 25 Thorndale Lady Dogs finished out their regular season on a high note with a 13-0 run-rule win at Georgetown Gateway on Tuesday night.
The Lady Bulldogs (14-8, 8-2) will now get ready for a run in the post-season, facing Normangee, the third place team out of 25A, in bi-district action late next week. Full Story

Eagles had logged third win of season against Granger
GEORGETOWN—The Milano Eagles fell on the road Tuesday night to Georgetown Gateway 12-2 in six innings.
Juan Valdivia absorbed the loss for Milano, striking out four batters in five innings of work.
Valdivia was two-of-three at the plate with a run batted in. Chance Pack was one-of-three with a double and David Jentsch was one- of-two with another double. Full Story

Rockdale Tiger Booster Club will host its 6th annual golf tournament on Saturday, May 5 at the Rockdale Country Club.
