Thorndale remains in the playoff hunt

The Thorndale Bulldogs took another step in securing a playoff berth with a 10-2 win over Granger Tuesday night on the road.

The Bulldogs improved to 14-10 on the year and 7-4 in District 26A play.

Before Tuesday night’s contests, Gateway and Holland were both a game behind Thorndale at 5-5, while Bartlett was a game ahead at 7-3. The Bulldogs face all three of those teams in the next two weeks.

Against Granger, Price Miller ripped off two triples and Riley Schaefer two doubles to spot the Bulldogs to a 8-0 lead after four innings.

Schaefer also picked up the win while striking out 12 batters.

The Bulldogs were coming off a 10-0, run-rule blanking of Buckholts at home.

Eric Hinostroza tossed a one-hitter at the Badgers and received plenty of run support.

Schaefer tore a triple for three runs batted in while Gabriel Salinas also brought home three runs with a double.
