Dewberry Jam raises $5,000

Alpha Tau Delta sorority’s 14th annual Dewberry Jam 5K fun run and walk drew approximately 250 entrants and was run on a perfect spring morning Saturday.

The 2013 run raised at least $5,000 for park improvements.

That pushes the run’s 14-year total past $83,000.

Rio Reyna of Austin, the 2013 5K champion, repeated his performance, winning in 15:01.0.

Second was Jeremy Daum of San Antonio with Austin’s Chass Armstrong third.

First Rockdale finisher was Juan Rubio who clocked in fourth at 17:20.9.
