Czajkowski sets U.S. lift record
Fresh of f winning Rockdale’s first state championship in powerlifting, Jamie Czajkowski established a new Amer - ican record in the bench press by lif ting 446 pounds.
The previous American bench record of 440 pounds was set by Nicholas Israel set in 2008.
Czajkowski set the new mark, competing in San Antonio at the 2013 USAPL Texas State Championships. Full Story

Lady Eagles will face No. 20 Shiner in first round action
Milano represents as third place team in district
MILANO—The Milano Lady Eagles (12-12, 5-3) will face No. 20 Shiner (11-4) on Friday night in Class A bi- district softball playoff action.
First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Giddings High School.
After falling to Burton 5-1 in a game to determine seating for the post-season, Milano will represent District 27A as the third place team. Full Story
No. 25 Lady Dogs battle Normangee
Thorndale hasn’t played since April 16
No. 25 Thorndale (14-8, 8-2) will open up its 2013 playoff run against Normangee (9-9, 5-3) in bi-district action on Friday night.
The two teams will face off at 7 p.m. at Bryan’s Rudder High School.
Lady Dogs head coach Lance Betak tried to find his team a warm up game, but could not. His team hasn’t played a game since April 16. Full Story
Eagles suf fer two road losses
Milano (3-9) suffered two road losses over the week in District 26A action.
On Monday, the Eagles traveled to Holland where they fell 12-2 in five innings.
Toby Sanders led the Eagles at the plate with a double and run batted in. Dillion Liscum and Jonathon Reyes each recorded a hit as well, with Reyes also snagging an RBI. Full Story
6th annual Tiger Booster Club tourney is May 4
Rockdale Tiger Booster Club will host its 6th annual golf tournament on Saturday, May 5 at the Rockdale Country Club.
