Place of Hope update; 3 fund-raisers ahead

Dear editor,

Happy Spring! Loyal supporters of Place of Hope:

We wanted to update you on the progress of our activities since our grand opening on Dec. 3, 2012. To date, we have seen 32 new clients and are so thankful for the opportunity to help make a difference in these ladies’ lives, as well as their family’s—to God be the Glory!

In January, we were awarded a small grant which paid for us to buy an entire new set of Earn While You Learn (which is the educational backbone of our center) as well as a set in Spanish (which we already so desperately needed). It also paid for 14 new conference room chairs as well as the cabinets and countertops to complete our kitchenette.

We are blessed with faithful volunteers who work weekly to help ensure our client’s needs are met, sort donations and complete whatever projects we have going on at the center. Several fund-raisers are coming up and they will also assist with those. If you or someone you know has a heart for this ministry and is interested in volunteering, please give us a call for more information.

Speaking of fund-raisers, here are three to add to your calendar. Come to one or all, we’d love to see you.

May 12—Baby Bottle Campaign, Mother’s Day through Father’s Day (please contact us if your church would like to participate and we will get you a set of bottles).

May 18—Table at Summer Explosion, hosted by Mead0wbrook Baptist Church (selling framed scripture prints from our building, handmade scarves and hanging baskets).

June 1— Sec - ond annual HOPE

Night, Downtown

Café, Thorndale

(please contact us for tickets, $15, or to donate an item for the silent or live auction).

We continue to be available to meet with organizations and churches to share our purpose and solicit their support. If you know of a group who would like to have us come speak, please let us know.

None of this would be possible without the public’s ongoing contributions and support. Please continue praying for us as we do God’s work on the front lines of life and death.
