Crown Garden Club held its April meeting at the home of Barbara Nelson with 12 members present.
Brandi Reagan, decorator/ f lorist, presented a program on making arrangements using shrubs, trees, flowers, fruit and other bits of greenery which she cut from the hostess’ yard before the meeting.
She made a large arrangement, suitable for a buffet or other place for a focal point, a smaller bouquet which could serve as a table centerpiece or coffee table decor, and a small one for an end table, bathroom or kitchen.
She also gave tips on arranging for longer-lasting bouquets and answered many questions on the subject.
Following the business meeting, Mrs. Nelson served a salad luncheon in her dining room. The centerpiece was made by Mrs. Reagan and also on the table were two arrangements of cake balls in vases with colorful candy which served as dessert.
Each member was given a plant in a hand-painted clay pot as a keepsake.
The club’s May meeting will be a trip to the Bob Bullock Museum in Aust in to view exhibits and see an IMAX theatre presentation of “Flight of the Butterflies,” a 3D adventure stor y that spans thousands of miles of migration that the Monarch Butterflies make each year.—Peggy Cooke, reporter
