King wins mayor's race

Dalley, Bland take council seats

  John King was elected mayor of Rockdale Saturday, polling 60 percent of the vote in a three-person race.

  King drew 319 votes, Collier Perry polled 174 (33 percent) and Toby Johnson drew 35 (seven percent).

  Nathan Bland won the west ward council post being vacated by Johnson. He drew 252 votes to 163 for Trent Wages.

  East ward council member Joyce Dalley was re-elected, out-polling opponent Robert Lawhon 77 to 29.
