RHS baccalaureate service Sunday at 2

Ministerial Alliance to sponsor annual event at St. John’s

Dr. Howell Wright, Rockdale ISD superintendent, will be guest speaker at Sunday’s baccalaureate service. Rockdale Ministerial Alliance invites the community to a Baccalaureate Service honoring the 2013 Rockdale High School graduates at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 1700 Hillcrest (at Summit).

Dr. Howell Wright, the Rockdale ISD superintendent, will be the speaker. Students leading in the service will include Caroline Wilde, William Dean and Benito Costilla.

Members of the Ministerial Alliance as well as members of the graduating class will participate in leading the service.

Graduates are asked to wear their caps and gowns and to be robed and ready for line-up by 1:45 p.m. by meeting in the foyer of the church sanctuary.

“This worship service seeks to ground the new graduates with God’s presence and guidance and serves as an act of thanksgiving for this milestone in their lives,” said Rev. Rita Sims, president of the Ministerial Alliance.
