RJH musicians earn gold at solo contest
66 of 77 participants earn Division I ratings
On Friday, May 10, 2013, members of the Rockdale Junior High School bands participated at the Sealy Music Festival Solo Contest at Sealy High School. Adrian Acevedo, RISD director of bands said of the 77 students who particiapted, 66 earned Superior (Division 1) gold medal ratings, 10 earned Excellent (Division 2) certificate ratings and one earned a Good (Division 3) rating. Inaugural golf tourney deemed huge success
A wesome, overwhelmed, and grateful are but a few of the words that describe my feelings associated with our inaugural scholarship golf tournament. The outpouring of support we received in hosting our scholarship golf tournament was above and beyond what I had anticipated. Full Story
Webb earns degree from University of North Texas
DENTON—Lena K. Webb, a 2008 graduate of Rockdale High School, graduated from the University of North Texas recently.
Webb earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management.
She will now live and work in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. Full Story

Race to Oaks set Saturday at MHS
The second annual Race to the Oak Trees, sponsored by the Milano High School National Honor Society will be held Saturday, May 25. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. and the race will begin at 8 a.m. Full Story
Whitmore piano students to give spring program
Piano students of Dixie Whitmore will present their annual spring music program at 7 p.m. Friday, May 24 at the First Baptist Church, 240 Green Street.
Many different styles of music will be performed in solos and duets. Full Story

The Rockdale High School Big Blue Band, under the direction of Adrian Acevedo, wrapped up the 2012-13 school year Thursday with a concert during the annual Fine Arts Fair at RHS. Full Story

Manor Oaks will be celebrating Memorial Day next Monday with a courtyard cookout.
We will honor our military veterans with traditional briskets and all the sides.
Entertainment will be provided by The Community Band.
