Webb Webb Webb earns degree from University of North Texas

DENTON—Lena K. Webb, a 2008 graduate of Rockdale High School, graduated from the University of North Texas recently.

Webb earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management.

She will now live and work in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.

Webb is the daughter of Larry and Susan Webb, formerly of Rockdale, and granddaughter of Eva Strong of Cameron.

Calk earns doctor of pharmacy degree

KINGSVILLE— Rockdale native Megan Jane Calk received her doctor of pharmacy degree, graduating magna cum laude, from the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy on Saturday, May 11.

Calk served as secretary for Phi Delta Chi. Faculty awarded her with the Mylan Pharmaceuticals Excellence in Pharmacy Award that recognizes academic excellence by ranking in the top 25 percent of the graduating class; having high professional motivation; and, having demonstrated superior proficiency in the provision of drug information services.

SAN MARCOS— Adam Keath McCoy graduated from Texas State University on Saturday, May 11.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sound Technology through the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

He is the son of John and Yvette McCoy.

Thorndale cheerleaders offering mini camp

THORNDALE—The Thorndale cheerleaders will hold a Little Bulldog Cheer Camp on July 29-31 at the Thorndale Middle School gym.

Spokesperson Heather Lamia said that the camp’s proceeds are to raise money for Varsity Camp and cheer supplies.

RISD student transfer deadline is May 30

Parents of students transferring into the Rockdale Independent School District from other school districts are reminded that May 30, 2013, is the deadline for application for student transfers for the 2013-2014 school year, according to superintendent Dr. Howell Wright.

There is no transfer fee.

Transfer forms may be completed by contacting Donna Melcher in the office of the superintendent at 520 West Davilla, during regular office hours, Monday through Friday.

Holcombe scholarship applications available

Applications are now being accepted for the Chr is tine Holcombe Memorial Scholarship.

Applicants must have completed at least one year of college and must be a former Milam County resident or have graduated from a Milam County high school. Applications are due by June 30.
