Private pesticide applicator training, testing set in Waco

For producers who need to obtain their Private Pesticide Applicators License from Texas Department of Agriculture, the McLennan County Extension office is sponsoring a Pesticide Applicators Training and Testing from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 29 at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service McLennan County office 420 North 6th Street, in Waco.

Cost of the training is $60.00 and includes Laws and Regulations Manual and Private Applicator Study guide.

The class will be limited to the first 15 registrants and you must pre-register. At the conclusion of the training, Texas Department of Agriculture administers the license test. Please pick up your training materials prior to the training. For questions or to pre-register call 254-757-5180.

Individuals with disabilities who require an auxiliary aid, service or other accommodations in order to participate in Extension sponsored events are encouraged to contact the County Extension office a week prior to the class to determine how reasonable accommodations may be made.

MILAM CROPS TOUR— Mark your calendars for June 21 to join the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Milam County office for the 2013 Milam County Crops tour. Crop specialists and industry representatives will be on-hand as we tour the county variety demonstration plots.

Following the tour, there will be a meal and program which will include an economic update and market outlook, update on the boll weevil eradication program, and a special program on Rules and Regulations pertaining to Farm Vehicles and Equipment presented by Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Jimmy Morgan.

Please make plans to attend this excellent educational event presented by the Milam County Crops Committee and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Milam County office. Three CEUs (1 L&R, 1 IPM, 1 Gen) will be offered to TDA pesticide applicator license holders.
