This week is full of end-ofthe year school activities with field trips, field days and graduation ceremonies. The 24-member Milano High School class of 2013 will receive diplomas during commencement exercises set for 8 p.m. Friday, May 31 at Pruett Field. The groups is led by valedictorian Stonie Guthrie and salutatorian Jacob Willingham.

Graduation ceremonies for MISD’s eighth grade class is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30 in the high school cafetorium. Top eighth grade graduates are valedictorian Bailey Baggerly and salutatorian Naomi Graham.

Underclassmen also held field days and award ceremonies this week.

We really enjoyed the first ever Milano Academic Banquet held Monday night at MHS. It was a great night with thousands of dollars of scholarships handed out to seniors, along with academic awards to the underclassmen. What a wonderful event to have at MISD and hopes are it will continued for many, many years.

City wide clean up is May 31 to June 2 in Milano. Luggers will be in the parking lot across the street from the civic center.

The annual Smyrna Cemetery work day is set from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 1. The cemetery is located off County Road 345. Family members of those buried at Smyrna are responsible for the grounds up keep. For more information, contact Linda Farris at 405-598-2488.

On a personal note, one of our granddaughters Hayleigh Lagrone will graduate from Milano High School on Friday night and begin her career in the medical field. We are so proud of you HB and love you very much. We know you will make us proud. God bless you.
