Brinkley tabbed for 40th THSBCA all-star game
In a career full of awards, Ethan Brinkley received one of the highest compliments a player can receive after being selected to play in the 40th annual Texas High School Baseball Coaches All- Star game next month.
The game will be held at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on June 15.
“It’s a testament to how hard he has worked,” said former Rockdale Coach Clay Cox. “After hitting .104 as a sophomore he put in work and had a stellar junior campaign winding up All- State. He continued that pace and put up unbelievable numbers this year as a senior.”
Br ink ley— who was sec - ond- team All- State last season— turned in one of the top seasons in RHS history in 2013, batting .493 with 38 RBIs.
Brinkley collected 73 runs batted in during his career.
As a hurler, the southpaw was 8-5 with a 2.39 earned run average.
It is not known if Rockdale has ever had a participant in the THSBCA All-Star game.
“I fully expect more honors to roll in as the summer goes along for this young man,” said Cox. “Couldn’t be happier for Ethan, a great young man who deserves every bit of recognition he gets.”
Brinkley will play quarterback for West Texas A& M in the fall.
