Stephanie Kelly Henry, 30, was charged with forgery by passing and possession of a controlled substance. She remains in custody in lieu of $12,000 bond.
Jeffrey A. Stifflemire, 46, was charged with forgery by passing and assault causes bodily injury. He remains in the county jail in lieu of $11,000 bond.
Lt. J. D. Newlin said the arrest was made by Ofc. James Treadway in the drive-through lane of Citizens National Bank during what police termed an attempt to pass a forged check.
“Methamphetamine was found in the vehicle, resulting in the drug charge,” Newlin said.
FELONIES— Other felony arrests during the past week:
• Sydnee B. Towery, 19, Rockdale, Milam County warrant for probation violation/possession of a controlled substance and two local traffic warrants, bond set at $10,000.
• Roman Ramos, 20, Rockdale, Milam County warrant for motion to revoke probation/burglary of a habitation, transferred to county custody.
• Jordan Deary, 20, Rockdale, Milam County warrants for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana (less than two ounces), transferred to county custody.
• Mark Anthony Ayala-Santana, 20, Port Lavaca, Bastrop County warrant for failure to appear/possession of controlled substance; Travis County warrant for driving while intoxicated, transferred to county custody.
ACCIDENTS—Two motor vehicle accidents were investigated by police during the past week.
Vehicles operated by Maria Araujo and Michael Kelley, both of Rockdale, were in collision at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the juniorhigh.
Minor damages were reported.
Minor damages were also reported in a two-vehicle accident at 12:12 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Green.
Drivers were listed as Sederrick Alcorn and Patti Morgan, both of Rockdale.
OFFENSES—Police are investigating the theft of speakers from a vehicle and an incident in which a money order was forged.
CITATIONS—Traffic tickets issued during the week included 12 for speeding, five for expired MVI sticker, three for no liability insurance and one for failure to stop and give information.
One citation each was issued for animal at large and disorderly conduct.
SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 177 calls for service and 134 calls were received through the 911 system at the Rockdale Police Department.
