Lots of visiting, family time during graduation
By Kay Lagrone
Reporter correspondent

Enjoyed lots of visiting over the weekend with family and friends in town for graduation ceremonies. Granddaughter Hayleigh graduated from Milano High School on Friday night.

Several of her mother Sherry’s family from Oklahoma made the trek across the Red River to make the ceremonies. Visiting were Loretta Morris, Jimmy and Claudell Morris, J.D. and Amanda Morris and Christian and Katelyn; Tesla Brewer and girls Rikki, Rylli and Kylie Jo; Christy Klein and Wyatt; Kim Roland and Luke.

Several people joined in celebrating the graduation of Hayleigh and Allyson Steinbecker at the Norine Lagrone residence on Saturday night with a fajita meal, dominoes and volleyball.

Plans are in full swing for the annual Lagrone Family Reunion at the Norine Lagrone home. This year’s dates are June 14-16. Friday is “workers day” with a fish fry that night, followed by hot dogs and homemade ice cream on Saturday night. Saturday will also include the annual Lagrone Family Muster ceremony.

Sunday’s covered dish lunch is a free-for-all with tons of barbecue to eat, just bring some side dishes and come visit with the family. There are usually some basketball, volleyball, softball, horseshoe and domino games played as well.

Thank you to the ones who showed up to the annual Symrna Cemetery workday on Saturday. Your help was greatly appreciated.

Summertime means garden time for Claude and I. We have enjoyed lots of yellow squash thus far and should be seeing some other veggies ready to pick soon. Not much beats fresh vegetables out of your own garden.
